Minimizing cost and installation
time is intrinsic to all of our designs.
We want to know about your in-house fabrication &
installation
capabilities. We design strictly for your
needs. We will supply you only
with the finished products which you need.
Noise Control is not magic but it
can be tricky. But most noise problems
involve an easily definable noise source. The
tricky problems are those with multiple noise
sources and resulting interactions and reflections.
Basically, there are 2 ways to
deal with noise: barriering (reflecting); and
"absorbing" (molecules losing energy though friction
& redirection in a porous material). These are
obviously very simplistic generalizations.
Most materials and composites have both barriering
and absorbing properties depending upon the
troubling frequency of the noise.
Specifications & experience are necessary to
determine the correct materials to use for a
specific noise problem.
BARRIER MATERIALS
We supply three barrier
configurations which can be further modified by
compositing with other materials.
Non-Reinforced
Barrier: 1/8" thick vinyl weighing 1 pound per
square foot.
"White" Barrier:
1/8+" thick very stiff flat barrier which is excellent for
temporary and semi-permanent walls as well as
sliding doors.
The White barrier can be suspended via grommets and
defies
physical abuse.
Reinforced
Barrier for hanging via grommets. This product
also
withstands physical abuse.
ABSORBENT MATERIALS
We supply a very large variety
of quilts and foams. We need to know
your application in order to specify the correct
product.
COMPOSITES
Composites have both barrier &
absorption properties. For instance, if you
put a barrier curtain system around a large machine,
the reflective properties of the barrier will
probably create more noise within the enclosure.
In this case, we will specify at least one layer of
quilt to be attached to the inside surface of the
barrier.
STEEL ENCLOSURES
Steel enclosures are ideally
fabricated at or near the location of the
installation. We offer design services
complete with fabrication and installation manuals
for in-house fabrication or fabrication performed by
a sheet metal shop at a nearby location.
We can also ship enclosures as
a kit.
